THE FIRE LAB · DUBAIA waste transfer station in northwest London caught fire shortly before midday. Nobody was hurt and the cause is not known. But the authority responsible for the site published a warning about exactly this in January.
A fire burning thirty centimetres underground had defeated the farmers for days. It was extinguished by injection, at a dilution of half of one per cent.
